Fifth Time Competing !

On Sunday July 26, 2015, Jesse Jakomait (age 38) started the Colorado Trail Race across the Continental Divide from Denver to Durango on a mountain bike.

Jesse was born and raised in the Sault and was the 2003 National Mountain Bike Pro Elite Mens Champion, 2003 Ontario Cycling Association Cyclist of the Year and a former winner of the H. P. Broughton Award as the Sault’s Top Athlete (voted on by the Sports Media of the Soo). He now lives and works in Colorado Springs as a Mechanical Engineer in the bicycle industry.
The Colorado Trail Race is over 550 miles (885 km) long reaching elevations of 13,200 feet and is rugged back country in the Rocky Mountains on the Continental Divide. You are self sufficient during the race (for food, water, etc) and use a mountain bike.

This is his fifth time entering the Event since 2010. He hopes to win the event and complete it in 4 days (Thursday July 30, 2015). He is trying to race each day with only 2 hours rest time per day.

You can follow Jesse on the Race Web Site on the Live Tracker in real time. The riders use a tracking device which shows the location of each person on a map during the event.
