City Police attended to the Sault Area Hospital on the 22nd of July after receiving a domestic complaint. Further investigation led officers to arrest a 32 year old male on multiple charges. The accused and female victim were at the hospital receiving treatment. It is alleged that on the 21st of July the accused texted and called the victim several times while being on conditions not to contact or harass her. It is further alleged that the accused broke into the victim’s residence on the 22nd of July, assaulted her, damaged her cell phone and would not let her leave her residence. As a result he was charged with breaching conditions of 3 separate release documents he was on, break and enter, assault, forcible confinement and mischief. He will be appearing in Bail Court July 23rd.
Transported back to the Sault
On July 23rd Blind River OPP contacted Sault Ste Marie Police advising they were dealing with a 37 year old male who was wanted by the City Police on an outstanding domestic related warrant from 2011. As a result officers met with OPP officers in Desbarats where they took the male into custody from the OPP and transported him back to the Soo. The accused was charged with breaching three conditions of a probation order which prohibited him from contacting the victim, harassing her and failing to keep the peace. He will be appearing in Bail Court July 23rd.
