Two People Struck By Vehicles and a Horse Too

On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 7:00am patrol officers responded to a report of a person having been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the north end of the city. As a result of their investigation, 23 year old Dwayne GRAWBARGER of First Ave was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm. It is alleged that GRAWBARGER was driving his vehicle while an acquaintance was on the hood of the car and fell off causing serious but non-life threatening injuries. He will be appearing in court August 17, 2015.
On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 06:45 hrs. patrol officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Northern Ave E. Investigation by officers revealed an adult female was walking east bound across Great Northern Rd in the crosswalk and was struck by a small SUV which was turning left in an attempt to go northbound from Northern Ave onto Great Northern Rd. The collision caused serious but non-life threatening injuries to the pedestrian who was transported to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the vehicle, a 73yr. old female, was charged with Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Horse Died

On the morning of July 15, 2015 at approximately 5:00am patrol officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a large animal on Second Line West near Carpin Beach Rd. Investigation revealed the vehicle collided with a horse. The vehicle, a 2003 Dodge Caravan received extensive damage. The driver suffered minor injuries. The horse unfortunately died at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
