Algoma U Hosts One-Day Admissions Fair

Algoma University

Thinking about attending university this fall? Algoma University is hosting a one-day Admissions Fair on Tuesday, September 1st from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. For one day only, Algoma U will be waiving the application fee as well as offering “on the spot” admission and registration to new students.

Algoma U’s Academic Advising Team will be on hand to help students pick their courses and plan their path to a university degree. Personal campus tours will also be available over the course of the fair.

“This is a great opportunity for students to find out what Algoma University has to offer, especially those who are still on the fence in regards to their education plans for the fall,” said Brent Krmpotich, Director of Student Recruitment. “The quality of our academic programs and services keeps improving. Combine that with the rising cost of living away from home and it makes a lot of sense for local students to study at Algoma U.”

Algoma U offers over 30 different academic degree programs in the social sciences, arts and humanities, and sciences. The University also offers professional degree programs in the fields of Business Administration and Social Work. There are still seats available in all academic programs. Outstanding students can still qualify for entrance scholarships, valued at $6,000, $10,000 or $12,000 over the duration of four years. At Algoma U, students benefit from one-on-one interactions with their professors, made possible by small class sizes. An undergraduate-only university, students have the opportunity to conduct cutting edge research, be a Teaching or Research Assistant, and work in state-of-the-art laboratories. Plus, an education at Algoma U is also affordable: tuition rates are below the provincial average and the University has a generous Scholarship and Bursaries Program to help offset the cost of university learning.
