A Sault Ste. Marie family is struggling with the bills as they fight to save the life of their infant baby, Miyah.
Miyah Odber was born about a month ago and has been in hospital ever since. She was born with a heart defect (Atrioventricular Septal Defect), basically two holes in her heart. The couple, who already have three children, found out the news while still pregnant with Miyah.
Trips back and forth to Toronto Sick Kids has put tremendous financial pressure on the family.
The one month old has recently had a feeding tube put in while the family waits for her open heart surgery. The transportation costs along with time off work now has the family worried about their future and their little baby.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cope with the costs involved. The target is set for $2,000 and currently sits at $1,260. Any donation will help say the family. Every $15 in donations allows for a night’s stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
