The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to secure their residents even while around home. Often the front door is left open and the screen door is not locked while the homeowners are in other areas of the yard. Ensure you lock your screen door and don’t leave valuables near doors such as purses and wallets. If you are working in your back yard, make sure your garage doors are shut and any doors into the house are secured. With the warm weather, many people leave windows open when they are away or running errands. Don’t give thieves the opportunity to make you a victim.
