An idea of the Summit Church on Queen Street finally came to fruition on Saturday. The leaders and the congregation have been planning a street carnival for the last two years and with the help of the businesses on the block from Elgin to Bruce streets, they pulled it off.
They, along with the other businesses supplied free food, prizes, photo booth, bouncy houses, and the Greyhound mascot. The kids and parents supplied the fun. Even Mann Florist gave away free flowers. It doesn’t get any better than that.
The wet weather didn’t keep anyone away. If success means continuation of the Queen Street Carnival, then it will be an annual event.
Thank you to the Summit Church and the businesses of that block. Do you think that it should be a weekly event on different blocks during the whole summer?
