Pinder Commits Back

Soo Thunderbirds

As we approach the end of July, the Soo Thunderbirds have announced that another key member will be returning to the team for 2015-2016.

After scoring 19 goals and 42 points through 47 regular season games last year, forward Matt Pinder has made a commitment to return as an overage.

Pinder, who also scored 7 times and set up 9 others through 14 playoff games, also led all players in goals at the Dudley Hewitt Cup Tournament with 4, including the game winner in the championship game. His 4 goals had also set the new Soo Thunderbirds record for most goals at the Dudley Hewitt Cup Tournament.

“Matthew is first and foremost a quality person who certainly represents what we look for in a Soo Thunderbird,” said T-Birds general manager Jamie Henderson. “Coming off a great season last year, Matthew will be expected to bring an even higher level of play game in and game out.”

“We’re really excited to welcome Matthew back to the Soo Thunderbird program.”

Pinder joins overagers Joey Miller, Matt Mitchell, Nathan Hebert and Brett Jeffries to the 2015-2016 squad.
