Phyllis was born on April 11, 1917 to Arthur and Ethel Everett in Saint John, New Brunswick, where she completed high school and secretarial college. Loving mother of Sandra Lyons (Norm), and Rod Stone (Beth McCarthy). Cherished grandmother of Christy Lyons, Douglas Lyons (Alicia), Amanda Stortini (Gregg), and Matthew Stone, and adoring great grandmother of Nora and Katy Lyons. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald (late Audrey) and Kenneth (Evie) Everett, and by brothers and sisters in law Lillian Morden (late Mac), Edward Stone (late Marie), Gordon Stone, Doreen Shellhorn (late Jack). She is survived by brother and sisters in law Ann Stone (late Gordon), and Bob Stone (Wilma) and by many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for George Stone & Sons sharing an office with her husband, Bill, for much of her 36 year career. She taught Sunday school and was treasurer for her church’s mission circles. She is fondly remembered by her church family at United Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing card games, scrabble, travelling, swimming and spending time with family and friends at their summer “camp”. Phyllis provided a faithful Christian and moral example to her children and grandchildren, and worked hard to instill manners in her descendants.
