Justin Trudeau made his way to Sault Ste. Marie to announce major investments in green energy if the Liberal form the next government come October 19.
“Sault Ste. Marie isn’t called the alternative energy capital of North America for nothing” Trudeau said during the announcement at Heliene Inc. Tuesday afternoon following a tour of the facility.
Trudeau was welcomed by local candidate Terry Sheehan with a hug and hand shake. Trudeau and Sheehan along with Liberal MPP for Sault Ste. Marie, David Orazietti was walked through the process of production of solar panels.
Trudeau used the opportunity to announce his plan of $200 million each year in initiatives that support the development of glean technologies.
The Liberal leader then took questions from the media ranging from the passenger train to diversifying economies that currently rely on resource based economies.
Following the announcement, Trudeau made his way to Queen Street for a rally at Terry Sheehan’s campaign office.
