Sault Ste. Marie – Today, Liberal Party of Canada Leader Justin Trudeau launched his Three-Point Plan to deliver real change for Canadians by creating jobs, growing the middle class and by helping those working hard to join it.
” Trudeau’s Three-Point Plan will help those in our communities. People in our riding, just like the rest of Canadians, are working harder than ever. Yet, they’re still having a hard time making ends meet. Wages continue to lag behind the cost of living. The economy is not creating the jobs we need, ” said Terry Sheehan Liberal candidate for Sault Ste. Marie and area.
The Liberal Three-Point Plan will:
1 – Create jobs with the most significant infrastructure investment in Canadian history: nearly $60 billion in new funding over the next ten years. Our jobs plan is about doing for our kids and grandkids exactly what our parents and grandparents did for us: build a better country for hard-working Canadians.
2 – Grow the middle class by putting more money in peoples’ pockets. We will do this by raising taxes on the wealthiest one percent, while cutting taxes for middle class Canadians.
3 – Help those working hard to join the middle class, by investing in essential social infrastructure – including affordable housing and child care – as well as giving families more money to help with the high costs of raising their kids. Nine out of ten families will get more from our Canada Child Benefit, and it will lift 315,000 children out of poverty.
Sheehan concludes, “based on the discouraging unemployment numbers here in the Sault and area, unemployment is double what it was last year, it is obvious that we need the Liberal Three-Point Plan to kick start the economy and to give a boost to families. The Conservatives just aren’t getting it. We need real change. I will continue to explain our plan for real change to voters, so that together we can build a better future.”
