The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native was selected in the 7th round (136th overall) by the defending Memorial Cup champion Oshawa Generals in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Zach and his family to the T-Bird program,” said T-Birds general manager Jamie Henderson. “We look forward to watching him develop this season and he’s certainly a player who will draw a lot of attention from NCAA coaches.”

Zach will be reunited with his T-Bird Midget teammates Matt Murray and Brad Thrower, who both signed with the T-Birds this offseason. The trio helped the T-Bird Midgets to a GNML title last season.
