LSSU Tea for Two

Dr. Lori Verderame, popular antiques appraiser on the Discovery Channel show “Auction Kings”, spoke to an overflow crowd as the latest guest lecturer in Lake Superior State University’s “BE Inspired” series in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan last night.

Verderame spot-evaluated items that were submitted by the public during a reception that preceded her talk. In the photo above, Dr. Verderame examined a Chinese Tea Canister that dates from 1710-1750 submitted by Janet Roger-Tyer from Cheboygan which she valued at $3,600.

In addition to her well-known comedic and no-holds-barred approach to antiques, Verderame provided students and members of the public with remarks about her career, as well as entrepreneurial advice.

LSSU’s “BE Inspired” speaker series is sponsored by the LSSU Lukenda School of Business, the School of Engineering and Technology, and the LSSU Cultural Affairs Committee. Next up in the BE Inspired Series is LSSU alumnus Mike Hoffner, director of Career and Technical Education at the Branch Area Career Center, who will be on campus on Oct. 15.
