Team Jacobs just keeps on winning, even out on the fairways in the middle of summer. The Team Jacobs Celebrity Golf Event presented by Prouse Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac was a ‘winning’ event for our community. Local supporters golfed with Canadian celebrities like Kaitlyn Lawes, Scott Moir, Natalie Spooner, and Chris Spring as well as celebrities with local ties like Marty Turco, Kyle Dubas and of course the members of Team Jacobs. The proceeds of the event were split up to support the Team Jacobs “Follow Your Dream” Bursary for Algoma University as well as to help purchase essential medical equipment in the Maternal Child Department at Sault Area Hospital.
The donation of $10,000 to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s Maternal Child Care Fund will be used to purchase an Infant Flow SiPAP System. This essential equipment will be available in our community hospital to help assist the breathing of the smallest patients in our community. The SiPAP System creates positive pressure ventilation to deliver gentle respiratory support for the smallest infants in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit. The system makes breathing easier for the child, freeing precious calories to be used for growth and development.
“It’s very special for Team Jacobs to support our community. Being able to raise the funds needed to purchase a piece of equipment like this really means a lot to us. We are fortunate to do what we love and being able to also help our community in every way possible makes what we do, worth it.”, Brad Jacobs, Skip of Team Jacobs.
“The support given to our community hospital is amazing. Each piece of equipment gives our local healthcare professionals the tools required to deliver excellent care. This piece of equipment will assist any newborn babies in need of care, to grow, develop and begin their lives. For that we thank each and every supporter of the healthcare in our community.” Gisele Anderson, Patient Care Manager of Maternal Child, Sault Area Hospital.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Prouse Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, all of the participants and sponsors of the event and of course the members of Team Jacobs for this generous gift. Team Jacobs has been an inspiration to the people of our community and by supporting our local healthcare, we can ensure the youngest patients of our community will grow up strong and cheer on Team Jacobs for years to come. Thank you!
