The former events manager at the Essar Centre may not stand trail after all. That according to Defence lawyer Bruce Wilson.
Trevor Zachary was charged and fired from his position in June of 2013 stemming from an internal investigation. He was charged with four counts of fraud over $5,000 related to misappropriation of funds for personal gains.
Defense lawyer, Bruce Wilson claims his client is not guilty of any of the charges and will fight hard to clear his client’s name.
The preliminary hearing continues today.
There’s been a court ordered publication ban on this case, preventing media to report on the evidence being presented.
Wilson believes there’s “insufficient” evidence for Zachary to stand trial.
Zachary was hired to book entertainment for the sports and entertainment centre, during his time at the Essar Centre (was first known as the “Steelback Centre”) Zachary booked an impressive line up of acts ranging from Bryan Adams to Elton John and David Copperfield to name a few.
