To simply state that the second annual Muddy Moose Charge was a success seems an understatement. This year’s event, held at the Searchmont Resort on September 12th, has raised over $57,400 so far with pledges still coming in!
What is the Muddy Moose Charge you ask? It’s an exciting obstacle course designed and laid out by military professionals and experienced racers aimed at bringing our Community together to raise money for promising childhood cancer research and vital support services. The event features obstacles such as the Moose Trot, Moose on the Loose, and Open Season Dodge.
More than just a fun personal challenge for adults, it’s an event where the entire family is welcomed to participate. Children 13 and under splash and slide their way through a specialized 1 km Muddy Calf Charge obstacle course designed with a younger generation in mind. There is truly something for everyone.
This year a total of 53 teams participated comprised of 317 adults and 115 children. Although pledges are still coming in, a total of $57,400 has been raised so far from the event. Not to mention the priceless memories and joy of having made The Muddy Moose Charge such a success for the past two years.
Treena and I are grateful that we had the opportunity to not only help out volunteering, but witness what makes our Community such a great place to live in. Thanks to Searchmont Resort for providing the beautiful location and Great Lakes Honda for the use of the ATV’s which made the effort of getting volunteers where they needed to be so much easier, not to mention a great great mobile platform to capture hundreds of great images. To the organizers, volunteers and especially everyone who participated both adults and children… it was a blast!!! Thanks for the many laughs and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
