The gala, which promises to be the social event of the year, will showcase the three story Commons area at the new St. Mary’s College. Patrons can look forward to a night of fabulous entertainment, a seven course meal and a cash bar, all while you experience a winter wonderland in Sault Ste. Marie’s newest secondary school.
The dinner, catered by the Canadian Croatian Hall, consists of salad & bread, roast chicken, pork scaloppini, pierogis, rice and a grilled vegetable medley catered by the Canadian Croatian Hall, with appetizers and desserts provided by the students of the Hospitality & Tourism High Skills Major Program at St. Mary’s College (SMC).
The As ONE Gala, which takes place November 7th, also offers a silent auction with artwork donated by local artisans and over thirty local businesses.
Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by the St. Mary’s College Choir, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, the SteelTown Silver Band will play a set. For the remainder of the evening a DJ will provide dance music.
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) has partnered alongside the Sault College Public Relations and Event Management Program for this gala event in support of the As ONE campaign, which is raising funds to outfit the new Theatre SMC.
The new Theatre SMC will hold 450 seats and provide a state-of-the-art experience for performers and patrons. In consultation with the arts community the Board included the theatre space at St. Mary’s College to not only serve students but the greater community by hosting a variety of performances.
This event is the first of its kind for the new St. Mary’s College location, allowing the community to come network, visit and explore what the new St. Mary’s College has to offer the city of Sault Ste. Marie, while enjoying a fabulous winter’s night themed gala.
Tickets for the As ONE Gala are $100 each ($40 charitable tax receipt) or a table of eight can be purchased for $700. They are available at the St. Mary’s College main office or by calling 705-945-5666.
