The showers ended just in time! To mark United Way Day ,Mayor Christian Provenzano, CAO Al Horsman, James Caicco, 2015 United Way Campaign Chair, United Way Sault Ste. Marie and district were joined by Funded Program Partners, City and United Way staff as the United Way flag is raised in observance of United Way Day in Sault Ste. Marie.
United Way Day raises awareness of the annual fundraising campaign launched on September 16th and continuing until December 17th. The Campaign Cabinet Chairs are busy reaching out to all community businesses and organizations to support a campaign at their workplace to raise funds to assist 12,000 people who are supported through the United Way of Sault Ste. Marie and district’s funded programs in 3 Focus areas,
Strong Communities – All that kids can be – From poverty to possibility
Additional activities to raise awareness about United Way Day taking place in the community include but not limited to:
• Natural Resources Canada – Canada Forestry Service will launch their 2015 GCWCC United Way Campaign with an afternoon coffee break and presentations from United Way Funded Programs.
• OLG – Foster Drive will launch their workplace campaign with presentations from United Way Funded Programs
