Fraud and False Pretences

City Police were called to the Great Northern Rd. Wal-Mart on October 8th regarding a fraud complaint. It is alleged store security observed a female remove an item from the bedding department and proceed to the courtesy desk where she successfully returned the product and obtained cash for it. The female then left the store but was arrested outside by store security and eventually turned over to Police. As a result a 21 year old woman  was charged with fraud and false pretences.

She will be appearing in Provincial Court on November 9th.

A shed was broken into in the Manitou Drive area overnight. A recently purchased snowblower was stolen.

A break in to the yards garage at the Sault Area Hospital was reported to City Police today. It was determined that sometime overnight thieves gained access to an east side window and were able to steal a large amount of power tools and outdoor equipment.

  1. Is there no video surveillance and security to stop this type of thing at the hospital?
    Here’s a good question.
Ill doers generally prowl by night so why is the downtown cop shop only open during bankers hours?
