After 8 years with Sault College, Susan Hunter is moving on. She has accepted a position with Northern Lights College in British Columbia as the Vice President of Community Relations and Student Services.
Hunter joined Sault College nearly a decade ago as the organization’s Director of Marketing and Communications. She worked to rebrand the College and raise its profile. Her portfolios included student recruitment, alumni relations, advancement, marketing, communications, as well as public and media relations.
During her time with the College, a new logo was unveiled and the organization grew in enrolment by 32%. Hunter worked with her colleagues to develop and sustain corporate and community level partnerships to support campus development. She also chaired the steering committee of the $4 million Study North project, a collaborative with six northern Ontario colleges.
Susan served on the Art Gallery of Algoma board and is a Director with the Chamber of Commerce board. She volunteered her time on various other community initiatives, as well.
“I’m glad I came home when I did,” says Hunter of her time in the Sault. “Both the College and the community were welcoming and supportive. I gained a great deal of experience here and hope to return some day.”
Susan will be relocating to British Columbia in late November, and will be residing in Dawson Creek for her new position. In future, she can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
