With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Aukse (Goldie) Kantautas on Tuesday October 27, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Loving wife of late Alphonse Kantautas and late Walter Jakomeit. Much loved mother of Mary Czop (Frank), Vetus Kantautas (Sandra), Ray Kantautas (Lynne) of Bancroft Ontario, Allie Skarzinskas (John) and Keith Kantautas (Evelyn) of Winnipeg. Loving Uma to Christopher Czop (Lorie), Darrell Czop (Andrew), Danny Czop (Danielle), Ryan Kantautas from Chicago, Carlee Kantautas of Toronto, A.J. Skarzinskas of Edmonton, Robbie Skarzinskas (Katie) of London, Marc Skarzinskas (Apryl) of St. Catherines, Johanna Skarzinskas, Kristin Kantautas of Toronto and Talia Kantautas of Winnipeg. Loving great grandmother of Kiera and Sydney Czop, Leah and Maddie Czop, Riley Skarzinskas and Ava Kantautas.
Friends may call the Arthur Funeral Home on Saturday October 31, 2015 from 12 – 2 pm. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2:30 pm. Rev. Alex Saurianthadathil officiating.
Goldie was born in the small town of Aspertava, Lithuania and came to Canada in 1950 where she and her young family eventually settled in the Sault. Goldie was employed at the Public School Board for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, gardening and at the cottage at Echo Lake.
