Mischief, Changing Price Tags


On October 17, 2015 at 11:15 p.m., J.P. Marcello, 28 years, of Second Line W. was arrested by City Police and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation. It is alleged that Mr. Marcello approached a vehicle in the parking lot of the Market Mall on Second Line W. and scratched the window glass and paint on it with a box-cutter style knife. At the time of the offence, Mr. Marcello was on probation with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He will be appearing in court on November 23, 2015.

On the 17th of October 2015, Gary Frank Marini attended at Canadian Tire where he switched the price tags for children’s boots from a higher price to a lower priced tag, and then paid the lower price at the checkout. He was then confronted by store security and arrested, at which time he assaulted the security officer by grabbing her by the neck. As a result, Police were called and charged him with fraud under $5000 and assault. There were no injuries sustained by the security officer. Marini was released with a court date of November 23, 2015 to answer to the charges.

On the 17th of October 2015, Police investigated a domestic related incident where on the 16th of October 2015 a 34 year old male was at his girlfriend’s residence in the central part of the city and damaged various articles of her clothing, valued at approximately $500. On the 17th of October 2016, the male stole the girlfriend’s cell phone, charger and various keys, before leaving her apartment. Police located the male and he was charged with mischief under $5000 and theft under $5000. He will be appearing before a justice for a bail hearing on the 18th of October 2015 to answer to the charges.
