No Charges In Teen Shooting


The status of a teen accidentally shot at the Algoma Rod and Gun club has not been released but the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services say no charges will be laid.

In a release Wednesday afternoon, the investigation is now closed. Officers from Investigation Services have completed their investigation into this matter. It has been determined that there was no criminal intent and no charges will be laid in this matter. As a result, no further details will be released.

The initial investigation revealed that a 16 year old boy was struck by a .22 calibre bullet. He was quickly stabilized and flown by air ambulance to Ottawa for further treatment.
