Numbers strong at Advance Polls


Those who are voting early in this years advance polls for the October 19th Federal election can expect long line-ups say Elections Canada workers, depending what polling station you’re voting in.

Richard Narbonne, Returning officer at the advance poll at the  Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Upton road told he has seen a steady stream of voters since the advance polls opened Friday morning.  Some voters are waiting an hour or longer to cast their ballots while other polling stations are fairly quick. Strong turnouts have also been reported across the country.

There are three advance polling locations in the Sault. Open from 12noon to 8pm, the advance polls run until Monday evening at 8pm. Check your voter registration card for your location. The Federal election is October 19th. Polls are open from 9:30am to 9:30pm on that date.
