Rob Arbic of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., puts the finishing touches on a pair of custom-built Adirondack chairs he will be auctioning during Lake Superior State University’s seventh-annual Pink in the Rink benefit on Oct. 31, jointly sponsored with War Memorial Hospital. Arbic’s creativity is just one of nearly 20 themed gift assortments will be raffled off, and all are valued at $200 or more.
Another featured item is a Jeff Blashill autographed Red Wings jersey, which is up for silent auction. For up-to-the-minute information, follow “Pink in the Rink LSSU” on Facebook or “pitrlssu” on Twitter. Through seven years, LSSU’s Pink in the Rink has raised more than $125,000, which has all been donated back to local health and wellness organizations.
Arbic’s chairs are constructed with wood produced by Bob VanDusen, who cuts the trees and rough cuts the lumber. Lock City Home Center provides the screws and fasteners, while pink-tape trim is donated by Leitz Sport Center. This is the second year that Arbic has built chairs for Pink in the Rink.
