Robbery at Macs Mart Under Investigation

On the 12th of October just after 6 am City Police received a 911 call of a robbery at the Macs Convenience Store at 647 Second Line West.

The lone male clerk was working in the store when two males entered the store wearing balaclavas. One male suspect had a knife and the other male had a can of bear mace. The victim was threatened with the knife and the suspects demanded cash. The clerk complied with demands. An undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets were taken. The two suspects fled the store and headed southbound on Goulais Avenue.

Suspect #1 is described as being Caucasian, around 20 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark sweater, gloves and a black bandana with a skull on it. In addition he had a backpack.

Suspect #2 is described as being Caucasian, also around 20 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothing, gloves and had a multi-coloured bandana. He also had a backpack.

The Sault Ste. Marie OPP K-9 unit was called in to assisted with this robbery. Officers from Investigation Services were also called and are continuing the investigation.
