The 16 year old boy who was accidentally shot at the Rod and Gun club remains in an Ottawa hospital.

Justin Williams was shot in the neck on October 10 and rushed by air ambulance to Ottawa for treatment. In an update from the family on their gofundme page, it now appears the teen will be hospitalized in Ottawa for about 6 months.  Doctors have not removed the bullet from his neck.

“At this time, they have been unable to remove the bullet and Justin’s head and neck have been secured with a metal brace.” wrote Carrie & Gerry Williams “His pain is under control although he still requires medication for it. He is now breathing unassisted and requires just a little oxygen. Justin is still in a neck brace until the fractures are healed. We do not know how long this will be.”

The news puts even more of a financial burden on the family as they remain in Ottawa with their son. Jenn Sprague, Justin’s aunt started a fundraising drive on the popular funding page, GoFundMe with hopes of raising $20,000 to aid the family, to date about $11,275 has been raised by donation from 247 people.  If you would like to donate please visit  https://www.gofundme.com/helpjustinwilliams
