It is with great pride that we were able to call Marilyn Turmaine our mother. No one was tougher than this beautiful lady, but on Monday, October 5th, 2015, she has lost her four year battle with cancer at the age of 73.

Marilyn was born in Thessalon, Ontario and lived in Bruce Mines into her teen years then moved to Sault Ste. Marie with her parents. It is there that she married and raised her family. Marilyn was a wonderful homemaker, and she truly enjoyed her positions as salesperson at Lois Style Shop and then office worker at Main Filter. Marilyn loved the outdoors and kept beautiful flower gardens. She especially loved to be “at the pointe” spending time in her cottage, sitting at the tiki bar on the water and riding in her golf cart through the forest.

Marilyn was the youngest of six children of the late Esther Lawrence and Gordon MacInnes. Cherished sister of Jim, (Dawn), and predeceased by Dorothy Parr (late Claude), Edna Merrett (late Stan), Gordon MacInnes and Doug MacInnes (Barbara). Surviving Marilyn is her devoted husband of 54 years, Philip Turmaine, and her children Shelley Leigh, Stephen Turmaine and Michael Turmaine. Marilyn was the much-loved Grannie of Michael, Richard, Matthew, Rebecca, Nicholas, Katie and Steven and Great Grannie to Dane, Joshua and Jayden.

At Marilyn’s request a private family service took place on Saturday, October 10th, 2015.

We invite all of our mother’s friends to make a donation to ARCH.

We would also like to say thank you to all of the wonderful Palliative Care staff in the hospital and the lovely people at ARCH Hospice who cared for Marilyn.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522.
