Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus has been placed on lockdown Friday morning following an internet threat made to the school according to media reports.
The university issued a statement on the school’s website that said the lockdown was put in place at 6 a.m. ET. with all buildings closed and classes cancelled until further notice.
Police have reported that they are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the RCMP.
Students and staff are told to stay away from the school for the day while the school has enacted its emergency response plan after consulting with Waterloo Regional Police.
