Who do you want behind bars?

Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District Crime Stoppers in partnership with the Sault Insurance Brokers Association and Station Mall are pleased to announce the infamous Great Algoma Lock Up fundraiser is back. This year the event will take place at the Station Mall in the Sears Court on Thursday, October 29th to Saturday, October 31st.

Crime Stoppers invites all local businesses, companies, service clubs, and institutions to participate in the Great Algoma Lock Up in exchange for a donation. With your donation you can arrange for a person within your business, or a member of another business, to be “arrested” on humorous charges relative to the individuals personality traits, mannerisms, or reputation within the organization.

Pledges of $100 or more will see the selected individual “arrested” by Crime Stoppers personnel and taken to their “holding cell” at Station Mall in the Sears Court where they will be charged and put on trial before a “judge”.

With pledges of $250 or more, Crime Stoppers will arrange for actual Sault Ste. Marie Police Officers to arrive at the chosen establishment complete with uniforms, guns, handcuffs, patrol lights flashing, and sirens sounding!

Details of the arrest are at the participant’s discretion; with quieter, less visible formats available. The purpose of this event is to have fun and help support a valuable service to our community, not to embarrass unknowing defendants.

This year, with a goal to raise $30,000, we strongly encourage all community members to join in on the fun!
