Motorists are reporting that Pim Street hill is extremely icy with vehicles stuck sideways at both the bottom and top. There’s also other reports that police have closed Pine Street hill due to weather conditions.
Slick conditions are expected to continue with more snow expected in the forecast. Periods of snow lasting through Monday could drop another 5cm on top of what was accumulating Sunday.
Please use extra caution and avoid the area if at all possible until City crews can treat the road surface.
City police issued this statement Sunday afternoon:
City Police would like to remind the public to pay more attention when driving. Police have already responded to 16 motor vehicle collisions since 10:00 A.M. With the recent bad weather numerous roads in the City are slippery and hazardous. Drivers are urged to take extra time when commuting and to use caution.
A taste of Winter is upon us!
Do we have enough fire fighters to cover all those accidents? Oh yeah, they are cutting any of them.
