Camp TechSmall businesses need more than just a website to take full advantage of the techniques available to market themselves.  Using Social Media and knowing the “big picture” for your digital strategy planning are key to growing your business further – in an affordable way.  On Wednesday November 25, join us for two half-day workshops to choose from that will cover these areas:  “Social Media (Advanced)” and “Making the Web Work For You”.  Please read on to learn more about these informative topics – presented by Camp Tech.

Morning Session (9am to noon) –  Social Media (Advanced)

This class is for those who already have a start on social media. Now that your Facebook business page and Twitter profiles are set up, we will focus on social media marketing strategy through the examination of real business case studies. You will learn how to write content that’s appropriate for your brand, use scheduling tools to make your life easier, and discover how to run a successful social media campaign (like a contest or other promotion) from start to finish. We’ll also touch on social media metrics and analytics, so you can quantifiably measure your efforts. After attending this class, you will have a much better understanding of Facebook and Twitter best practices for your business.

Note: Laptop computers aren’t absolutely necessary for this workshop, but they are welcome if you want to follow along.

Afternoon Session (1:30pm to 4:30pm) –  Making the Web Work For You

As a small business owner, you have a lot on your plate and need digital tools that work as hard as you do! It can be difficult to keep up with the latest technology, and know what is right for you (and what to ignore). Learn how to take a “big picture” approach to your digital efforts, and combine your website, social media, email campaigns and web marketing in ways that make sense and actually get results. This presentation will touch on content strategy, what to watch for as the web evolves, and how to monitor your digital strategy and measure your efforts properly.

About Our Speakers:

Dani Gagnon (Social Media Advanced) – Dani sprang in on the social media world before it got hot with her company Dani G Inc, and because of that has worked with over 400 companies in the last 5 years on their social media campaigns. Her innovative ideas sprout from over 15 years of social media experience, and being a young entrepreneur with a fresh take on marketing. Dani spends most of her time Snapchatting coffee pictures to the world, or playing gigs with her band KINK.

Avery Swartz (Making the Web Work For You) – Avery is the founder and CEO of Camp Tech. A self-described design geek, she helps to demystify the web for small business owners, charities, and arts organizations. Avery believes that getting your business online should be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and not a chore. She offers a friendly, casual approach and promises to use as little technical mumbo-jumbo as possible. In addition to her work at Camp Tech, Avery leads a web design studio, and teaches Digital Publishing at Ryerson University and Web Design Process at Humber College.
