Sault Ste. Marie: The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) and the Huron-Superior Unit of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective agreement.

“I am most pleased with the results of the negotiations. This is truly a testament of our collective efforts to maintain strong relationships with our employee groups, and in this particular case OECTA. I know that all those affected by this outcome will be happy to hear this good news. We will eagerly await the ratification results,” said HSCDSB Director of Education, John Stadnyk.

“After three days of intense bargaining, both the Union and Board worked cooperatively to put together what we believe is a fair and equitable agreement. We now leave it to our members to decide upon its ratification. We anticipate we will be able to present the tentative agreement to our teachers in advance of the Christmas holidays,” said OECTA President, Darrell Czop.

Both parties are scheduled to vote on the tentative agreement on December 2, 2015.
