Peacefully passed from death to life when Jesus called him home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the age of 74.
We are confident I say and willing, rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord 2 Cor. 5:8.
Husband of Shirley for 46 years. Father of Shayne (Christine). Step-Grandfather of Bridgette (Ryan), Melanie (Troy), and Matt (Emily). Grandpa Mel of Mira, Kael, Nathan, and Natalie. Brother of Frankie (Mitzi) of Kanata, ON, late Doug (Carol) of Milton, Nova Scotia, and Shirley Pond (Roy) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Brother-in-law of Linda Reddick (Barry) of Manitouwadge. Uncle Mel will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
Over the years Mel developed many special relationships and cherished the time he spent with the staff and his friends from the Casino, especially Ben and Paula, and also his time with his golfing buddies.
At Mel’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made to Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (492 Wellington St. East, Sault Ste. Marie, ON 705-759-2522).
Special thank you to the wonderful staff at ARCH, our friends and neighbours for their support especially those who brought over special food to satisfy Mel’s cravings.
Thank you to the Metro Northern Ave. staff for the special attention given to Mel.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ianni for his 34 years of care.
We never realized how much Mel was loved by everyone no matter where he was he brought smiles to many faces. But most of all, thank you for the many prayers said on Mel’s behalf. The Lord answered them all according to his will.
