Penalties played a factor in all five goals when the visiting Elliot Lake Wildcats travelled to the Pullar Stadium to face off against the
Soo Eagles.

Elliot Lake would get on the board with a power play marker at 6:03 of the first period by Artur Terchiyev.

Chad Lopez would get the second power play goal of the game for the Wildcats at 12:33 to put Elliot Lake up by two at the end of the first period.

Nate Harris would get the Eagles within striking distance on a power play goal at the 0:58 second mark of the second period on a feed from Evan Ketner and Gord Helmuth.

The Wildcats would again respond with a goal by Cole Hepler at 8:57. Even though Hepler’s goal was not on the power play, it was however on a delayed penalty against the Eagles with the Wildcats goal tender, Aaron Mackay out of the net for the extra attacker.

Alex DiBacco would again pull the Eagles within one early in the third period on a power play goal.

Jack Hickey would leave the Eagles net for the extra attacker with less than a minute left in the game and with time outs called by both teams to discuss strategy the Soo could not get the puck behind Mackay to tie the game.

Jack Hickey faced 31 shots while Aaron Mackay had 32 shots.

Next action for the Soo Eagles is Friday, 13 Nov when the Blind River Beavers make the trip across the bridge.
