NEW UPDATE: 10,000 PUC customers without power

PUC have restored power to all but 600 homes as of 11am.

Areas still affected include:

  • Part of Carlbert and Boundary
  • Second line west, west of Airport Rd to Gros cap

Previous Update:

PUC has confirmed that power in the following areas has been restored:

  • River Rd. and Parkshore, Dacey Rd. East to city limits, Trunk Rd. south to River Rd.
  • Peoples Rd. West to Gros Cap, South to Point Des Chenes

About 2,600 customers are still without power and crews are working hard to repair storm damage.

PUC is reporting that 10,000 customers are currently without power in several areas of the city. The cause of the unplanned interruption is storm damage due to strong winds which have moved into the area over the past 24 hours.

There are currently several power outages due to Strong Winds:

  • River Rd. and Parkshore
  • Dacey Rd. East to city limits
  • Trunk Rd. South to River Rd.
  • Boundary Rd. East to Chambers Ave.
  • Trunk Rd. South to Bennett Blvd.
  • Shannon, Ohio, Indiana areas
  • Huntington Park area
  • Chambers Ave. East to Birchwood
  • Kerr South to Centenial.
  • Huron St. East to Tancred
  • Edinburgh Lane South to Queen St.
  • Peoples Rd. West to Gros Cap, South to Point Des Chenes

  1. Power, knocked out late last night by the high winds, was restored just after 8 this morning. Hurray for the crews out in that wind that worked hard in the wee hours to ensure we have power this Christmas. Sure, that’s their job, but we’re appreciative of them, thank them and wish them a very Merry Christmas.
