Charged for Driving While Under Suspension


NORTH SHORE TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 17, 2015, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 in the North Shore Township east of Blind River.

At 3:15 p.m., a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 17 was observed by police and a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the stop, it was determined that the driver was under suspension and the vehicle had an expired validation sticker on the licence plate.

Richard BRUNEAU, 40 years of age, from Blind River, Ontario was charged with:

  • Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on February 3, 2016.
