CROSKERY, Dr. David William, Alwyn


Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 11, 2015 in his 71st year.

Loving husband and best friend to Zahida, devoted father to Asima (Mitch), Matthew (Laura) and Malcolm (Alicia). Proud grandfather to Eric, Emilie, Callum, Nathan, Haidyn, Maya and Taylor. Son of the late David and Gladys Croskery, David leaves behind his siblings Diane (Gordon) Petter, AnnLee (Brian) Stanbra, Blair (Judy) Croskery and Bill (Sarah) Croskery and sister-in-law Asima, Reno and brother-in-law Omar (Naheed). David will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Better known as Doc, David graduated in 1969 from the Ontario Veterinary College. He then moved to Desbarats in 1971 where he would set his roots, start his family and expand a veterinary practice that would service all of Algoma. For over 45 years, Doc would be seen in his little beige truck, driving to farms between Searchmont and Blind River.Doc is remembered for the pride he had in his family, his passion for farming, the loyalty he had for his many friends and his love of fishing.

Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5 until 9 pm. Funeral service held from the chapel on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11 am. Mr. Bob Gjos officiating.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends and neighbours for their love and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully accept donations to the Central Algoma Secondary School scholarship fund. These funds will be used to set up a scholarship fund in David’s name to support annually a graduate planning to study in agriculture, veterinary science or a related field.
