Sault Ste. Marie MP Terry Sheehan represented his constituents today at the
Speech from the Throne.
“I am proud of the commitments made by the Government in The Speech from the Throne.
They are the same commitments we made during the campaign and I`m glad that Mr. Trudeau is making them the priority. Now the real work begins, ” said Sheehan.
In today`s Speech from the Throne, delivered by Governor General David Johnston, the
Government re-committed to effecting real change in Canada. Among other commitments, the Government aims to ensure:
– Growth for the middle class;
– An open and transparent government;
– A clean environment and strong economy;
– And security and opportunity
The Government will implement a middle class tax cut and create a new tax-free Canada Child Benefit to give more to Sault Ste. Marie families. They will make historical investments in infrastructure, strengthen the Employment Insurance System, and enhance the Canada Pension Plan to provide Canadians with more income security.
” I`m looking forward to working with my colleagues here in Ottawa to do more for Sault Ste. Marie. We need to boost and diversify the economy, create and maintain jobs, and help the middle class. Today`s speech is a great start. “
