What’s up with the drivers in Blind River?

On December 8, 2015, at 12:25 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that the male driver was suspended. George LATHAM, 63 years of age, from Welland, Ontario, was charged with: Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on January 27, 2016.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH DRIVE-NO INSURANCE
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On December 8, 2015, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Causley Street in the town of Blind River.
At 11:22 a.m., a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 17 was observed by police and a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the stop, it was determined that the driver was under suspension and there was no insurance on the vehicle.
Aimee-Lynne BELLERIVE, 18 years of age, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was charged with:

Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(b) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Driving while Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on February 3, 2016.

At 12:29 p.m., a vehicle travelling eastbound on Causley Street was observed by police and a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the stop, it was determined that the driver had no insurance on the vehicle.
Pedram SADOGHI, 31 years of age, from North York, Ontario, was charged with: Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(b) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH DRIVE SUSPENDED
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On December 8, 2015, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Highway 17 in the town of Blind River.
At 2:14 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on Causley Street. The investigation revealed, the female driver was suspended. Itza PONELL RODAS, 27 years of age, from LaSalle, Ontario, was charged with: Driving while Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The male passenger and registered owner of the vehicle, Colin BEECHEY, 24 years of age, from Ancaster, Ontario, was charged with: Owner permit operation of a motor vehicle on a highway-no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(b) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Both accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on February 3, 2016.

STOLEN VEHICLE STOPPED
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On December 8, 2015, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Causley Street, in the town of Blind River.
At 11:34 p.m., a vehicle travelling westbound was observed travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street and a traffic stop was initiated. Investigation determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen on December 7, 2015, from Hamilton, Ontario.
Oskar BALABAN, 26 years of age, of Burlington, Ontario, was charged with: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, contrary to section 254(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused appeared before Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie.
