The Eagles played host to the Rayside Balfour Canadians at Pullar
Stadium looking forward to continue their winning streak.

The last time these two teams met were just three days ago with the
Soo Eagles taking down the Canadians 3 to 1.

The Eagles would put the pressure on Rayside Balfour early in the game
scoring two goals in the first two and a half minutes by Zach Parrot
and Bradley Hofelich. The Canadians would respond half a minute later
on a goal by Logan Lefebvre and Tristan Simm would tie the game at
5:28. Roman Gaudet would give the Eagles the lead back before the end
of the first period with the Eagles leading 3 to 2.

Early in the second period Rayside Balfour would tie the game on
Simm’s second goal of the night and then about five minutes later
Jacob Palmerio scored to put the Eagles back into the lead before the
close of the second period.

Makenzie MacMilan would score on the power play at 9:54 to tie the
game again for the Canadians. The Eagles would lose their lead when
Sheehan Kirkwood would score at 10:27 for Rayside Balfour.

About four minutes later the Eagles tied the game on a power play goal
by Reed Gregory at 14:36. Jacob Palmerio would get his second goal of
the night 17 seconds later which would be the eventual game winner.
Chris Murphy added a little insurance to the Eagles lead at 17:46.

Rayside Balfour would pull Jessie Morin from the net in the last 2
minutes of the game but couldn’t catch the Eagles and Gord Helmuth
would get an empty net goal to give the Soo an 8 to 5 win over the

The Soo Thunderbirds will be making the cross border trip to take on
the Eagles on Saturday with game time at 7:00.
