Police warn of suspicious males door to door


Over the weekend the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received several calls regarding two suspicious males. The males were going door to door and asking to enter homes to check the filter on the furnace. In one instance the homeowner was advised that the filter needed to be changed according to a by-law. None of the homeowners allowed the males to enter. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to not let any persons into your home that you have not called or do not know. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity of this nature by calling the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 705-949-6300.

Sometime overnight between January 10th and January 11th a residence in the 100 block of Albert Street East was broken into. Nothing was taken.

Sometime in the evening hours of January 11th a residence on Wallace Terrace was broken into. Jewellery was taken.
