Snow Squall Watch In Effect


A blustery day is in store if snow squalls shift toward Sault Ste. Marie and the Eastern shores of Lake Superior Monday. Snowfall amounts can vary in snow squalls however about 5 to 10 cm is expected by Monday evening.

Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Snow squalls off Lake Superior are expected to develop overnight or Monday morning. Visibility will be significantly reduced due to heavy snow combined with blowing snow. Conditions will improve Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
