Have you ever wanted to grow your own vegetable garden or be the envy of the neighbourhood with your flower beds? Maybe with the high cost of food at the grocery store has you thinking about growing your own?
The Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society will hold their annual Seedy Saturday next weekend at Sault College , Essar Hall M wing.
The annual one day event always gets you thinking about Spring with seed swaps, seminars and workshops that will help you and your green thumb this growing season.
“It’s an event not a lot about flash as it is substance” Suzane Hanna from the Horticultural Society told SaultOnline.com, ” we invite people who are passionate who want to keep learning about things , that want to share – so it’s a networking opportunity and to find out more about the community and what we have so there’s some best kept secrets in terms of what people may not be aware of”
The event starts Saturday, March 5 at 10am with a seed exchange and sorting of the seeds. There will be vendors, presentations, Children’s activities , film documentaries and workshops throughout the day, including how to start your first garden.
“Seeds are only as good if they are shared” Hanna said, “so we provoke that with the seed exchange and it’s the highlight of any event like this”
