On February 16, 2016 City Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Wellington Street West.
It is alleged that a male age 25 was agitated and was verbally insulting to a female victim. The victim had her 4-year-old son with her. It is alleged that the victim and her son left the convenience area of a local gas bar to use the payphone and when she turned around the male poured a cup of coffee on her and her son.
Police later arrested the accused Tyler Richard Verville for assault X 2 at the City Police station. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 21, 2016 at 9 a.m.
In another matter
On February 16, 2016 a male turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service regarding an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The accused Samuel Albert Day, age 46 was released on a promise to appear and was given a new court date and is scheduled to appear in court on March 21, 2016 at 9 a.m.
