(May 6, 1926 to January 16, 2016) – Our dear Harold passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the age of 89.
Loving father of Pamella, Perry, Peter and the late Patty; grandfather to Josh, Shelby, Sean Eric, Taylor, Teagan and Chase, and great grandfather to Lyric, Bayley and Krystal. Harold found his second love late in life, and is survived by his loving wife Beth whom he married in 2008 at the age of 81. Dear brother of the late Alf (Lorna) and late Mildred (late Spark), Harold is survived by his extended family, many who live in the Puslinch & Milton area.
Harold was born in Puslinch, Ontario, but made much of his life in Northern Ontario in his career as a police officer with the OPP, with postings in Thessalon, White River and Chapleau, where he met his first wife, the late Patricia, marrying her in 1960, settling in Bruce Mines to raise their family until she passed in 2007. Harold was known to many for his gentle ways and tireless commitment to his family and community, as well as his love of a good gadget and garage sale!
Family and friends are welcomed to join in a celebration of Harold’s life to be held at the Bruce Mines United Church on February 14, 2016, commencing at 3:00 pm. At Harold’s request, there will be no visitation.
