With 21 seconds left in the game Evan Ketner would get the game winning goal to have the Eagles slip by the Blind River Beavers.
It seemed like it was going to be a runaway for the Eagles as the Soo jumped out to an early lead notching two goals in the first five minutes by Evan Ketner and Gord Helmuth.
Helmuth would get his second goal of the game while the Eagles were short handed at 18:29 of the first period to lead the Blind River Beavers 3 to 0.
With a little over a minute left in the first Joseph Eben would put the puck behind Jack Deines to close the gap and at the end of the period the Soo Eagles were leading 3 to 1.
Jason Uhl would pull the Blind River Beavers within one at the 1:25 mark of the second period but Roman Gaudet would give the Eagles a little cushion at 15:08 to have the Soo lead Blind River 4 to 2 at the close of the second period.
The Blind River Beavers would tie up the game with two power play markers by Sean Paterson at 1:54 and Ted Davis at 2:11 of the third period.
It would remain tied at 4 until Evan Ketner would notch his 20th goal of the season at 19:39 to give the Soo Eagles a 5 to 4 decision over the Blind River Beavers.
Next action for the Soo Eagles is Saturday when the Espanola Express make the trip across the border with game time at 7:00 pm.
