Library awarded $100,000 for accessibility

The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library Board is pleased to announce its successful application to the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program.

In May of 2015 the Library applied for funding to be able to revitalize the Centennial Library. The Library has received confirmation that it will receive $100,000.00 over a two year period to make necessary improvements so this library location is truly accessible for every member of our community.

The Centennial Library was completed in 1967 as a Centennial Project and has received a number of renovations over the past years including a new elevator, boiler system, online catalogue and most recently the chiller system.

As a result of receiving these funds the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will create a space where all of our community will be able to access all the Library has to offer.
