Two drunk guys out in the cold


City Police responded to two different occurrences overnight involving intoxicated persons involved in disturbances. Both males required medical treatment do to exposure to cold.

One male was located with the assistance of K-9 and was found with no jacket or shoes. With the recent cold snap extra caution should be exercised to prevent cold related injuries.

City Police would like to urge the public to check on those vulnerable family members or friends to may need extra care during this weather event.


At 3:30 P.M. on February 12, 2016 city police arrested 55 year old Michael Sweeney of Albert St. E. It’s alleged that Sweeney attended at Walmart on Bay Street and stole merchandise valued at $36.00.

In addition the accused was on a probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be of good behavior. Sweeney was charged with theft under $5000.00 and one count of breach of probation, he will be appearing in court on 14 March 2016.
