On March 8, 2016 at approximately 5:00 a.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a fire seven kilometres east on the Northland Lake Road. Upon arrival, a service truck and fuel truck belonging to a logging company were completely engulfed in flames.
Investigation revealed that several hand tools were stolen from the service truck including battery operated drills, battery chargers, and socket sets. The estimated cost for the damage and theft is valued at $300,000.
